Events & Workshops

Currently our Tuning in to Teens and Tuning in to Kids are run as live interactive online sessions. The sessions are broken up into facilitated discussion, experiential learning and home practice run by experienced professional counsellors . Detailed session notes are provided each week. We bring compassion, humour and many years of both working with parents and being parents ourselves. We provide a safe and non judgemental environment for you to connect with other parents and work through the course material . Many parents express how good it is to know that they are not the only ones experiencing challenges and report significant shifts in relationships with their teens.

Tuning in to Kids and Tuning in to Teens: Emotionally Intelligent Parenting

Tuning in to Kids and Tuning in to Teens have been put together and heavily researched by the team at Mindful - The Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health, Melbourne. They are evidence-based programs with proven results. The programs involve learning about emotional intelligence and how to coach your child through their emotions and help them develop an emotional tool kit. We look at the importance of self care for parents, mindfullness and being able to be fully present with our children. There is plenty of time for discussion, exploring topics such as our own experiences as children and how that colours our own parenting. Over the weeks you will practise different techniques with your children at home and then have the opportunity to discuss and hone these techniques. By the end of the program our aim is that you will feel confident that you have a unique roadmap that works for you and your children. We bring our experience of running the programs aiming to bring warmth and lightness so that you feel supported and encouraged.

Tuning in to Kids emotional intelligence

Tuning in to Kids: Emotionally Intelligent ParentingTM

is a parenting program that teaches you how to help your child understand and regulate their emotions. It is suitable for parents of toddlers through to Grade 6 children. You will learn how to recognise your child’s less obvious emotional experiences as an opportunity for closeness and teaching. TIK research shows that when we focus on less intense emotions and we give our children the opportunity and language to express how they are feeling plus the skills to problem solve, their behaviour improves and life is calmer!

Programs run for 2 hours face to face or 1 1/2 online every week for 6 weeks. COST: $190 / $270 couples

Tuning in to Teens parenting program

This helps your teen to be more assertive and strong in situations of peer pressure, have greater success with making friends and be more able to manage conflict with peers. Teens with high emotional intelligence are more able to cope when upset or angry, have fewer mental health and substance abuse difficulties and more stable and satisfying relationships.
